Support an American Hero. Pay It Forward Through Operation Buckeye.

Operation Buckeye has been one of the Community Service projects served by The Charlotte Buckeyes since 2009.

Operation Buckeye was formed by Dick Tressel and Jim Caronis with the sole purpose of sending boxes to our troops to thank them for their efforts, bring them a touch of home, and brighten their day. Over 38,000 boxes have been sent to the men and women of our armed forces deployed in 15 countries and 5 Naval ships. The boxes contain items that are both treats and necessities.

Beef jerky, hard candy, and drink mixes (to give water a better taste) are two of the favorite items. Gum, chips, cheese crackers, canned fruit, granola bars, tuna snacks, tooth brushes, tooth paste, books, batteries, deodorant, foot powder, peanuts, puzzle books, and wipes are also examples of some of the items sent. Every second and fourth Saturday, dedicated volunteers in Columbus pack and send boxes oversees.

A $10 donation covers the cost of shipping; all items packed in the box are donated.

For each soldier you sponsor, you will receive one raffle ticket for a drawing to be held during the last week of the drive.  The winning raffle ticket is for 2 tickets to THE Game (when at home) or another big game when its not.

The Operation Buckeye table will be set up at Strike City for four consecutive gamewatches:  You do not have to be present to win.
