The Ohio State University Alumni Scholars Program Information

The Charlotte Buckeyes Alumni Club is proud to offer scholarships to exceptional students in the greater Charlotte metro area.

Below you’ll find key details about the Alumni Scholars Program (ASP) — including eligibility requirements, deadlines, and how to apply.

The Ohio State University Alumni Scholars Program (ASP) is designed to recruit and recognize outstanding incoming freshmen by providing financial assistance through local alumni clubs.

This program is a partnership between the Ohio State University Alumni Association, Undergraduate Admissions, and Financial Aid. Scholarships are competitive, merit-based, recruitment awards.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Apply to The Ohio State University by November 1 and be admitted.

  • Demonstrate strong academic performance.

  • Show involvement in school and community activities.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude and motivation toward college work.

  • Be residents of or attend high school within the Charlotte Buckeyes Alumni Club area.

How to Apply

Students can apply for the Charlotte Buckeyes Alumni Scholarship — along with other university scholarships — through ScholarshipUniverse.

  • Application opens: December 1, 2025

  • Application deadline: February 15, 2026

Scholarship awards will appear on the recipient’s Buckeye Link account in the spring. In some cases, recipients may be announced in early summer.

Note: Students may apply before receiving admission to Ohio State.

Additional Information

  • Student-Athletes:
    Students planning to participate in varsity athletics (including walk-ons) may be eligible for the club scholarship. Awards must be approved by Ohio State Athletic Compliance on a case-by-case basis.

  • Financial Aid & FAFSA:
    Students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA to qualify for need-based scholarships and grants.

    To be considered for university merit-based scholarships, students must apply for admission to Ohio State by November 1.
